Aim of the Project
The project titled “A Day-Out in Orphanage” was initiated with the heartfelt goal of spending quality time with children residing at the Embassy of Hope orphanage in Kaikhali, Rajarhat, Kolkata. The objective was to bring joy, provide a nutritious meal, distribute essentials and games, and most importantly, foster human connection through warmth, engagement, and shared experiences.
What We Achieved
Under the leadership of Project Head Debasmita Mondal and with the support of our dedicated volunteers, the event took place smoothly on Friday, July 1, 2021, starting at 11:00 AM. Approved by Ms. Riyanka Acharjee, and backed by a budget of ₹20,000 (plus ₹5,000 contingency), the project successfully delivered a heartwarming and memorable day to the children and staff of the orphanage.
Key achievements included:
- Organizing a full-course lunch and evening snacks for the children and volunteers.
- Distributing game items such as chess boards, soft toys, teddy bears, and small toys.
- Strengthening our connection with the orphanage management for future collaboration.
- Sharing joy and emotional support with 15 children (ages 4 to 15) and 5 staff members.
The lunch menu included:
Basmati Rice, Yellow Daal, Potato Chips, Vegetable Curry, Chicken Curry, Chutney, Papad, and Sweets
The evening snacks included:
Coffee/Tea, Milk (for kids), Biscuits, Fried Snacks, Chicken Pakoda, and Pastries
All raw materials were sourced and brought in by volunteers, while the cooking was graciously handled by the orphanage cook—with active assistance from our team.
Key Outcomes & Project Highlights
