Minds to Ignite

Project Aim:
Project Minds to Ignite, held on September 24, 2021, was a powerful initiative focused on nurturing both the educational and emotional well-being of the children at Providence Home, Madhyamgram. With a core aim of distributing stationery kits, the project also placed strong emphasis on mental health awareness, child safety education, and creative expression.


What We Achieved:
Led by Project Head Dipjwal Ray and approved by Ms. Riyanka Acharjee, the event not only delivered on its promises, but also created a lasting impact on the young minds involved. The Rigel Foundation team upheld its commitment to ensuring that education and emotional support reach every child, especially in challenging circumstances.

Key Achievements:

  • 50 orphan children received full stationery kits including notebooks, pencils, pens, rulers, sharpeners, erasers, drawing books, and colour pencils.
  • Mental health awareness sessions were conducted in an age-appropriate manner.
  • Children were taught the concept of ‘Good Touch & Bad Touch’, contributing significantly to their personal safety education.
  • Creative expression was encouraged through an art activity, where children created beautiful drawings that were appreciated and rewarded.

Event Highlights:

  • Prize distribution for best artwork to boost morale and creativity.
  • Sweets and goodies were given to every child, spreading happiness.
  • Strong volunteer involvement, who worked with dedication to manage, execute, and connect with the kids meaningfully.

Promotion & Donations:

  • Promotional efforts included social media awareness through the Rigel Foundation Instagram page and personal outreach via word of mouth.
  • Donations were collected online, showcasing the strength of community trust and participation.
