Rigel Foundation Odisha Organises Menstrual Hygiene Drive in the Slums of Vani Vihar, Donates 200+ Sanitary Pads
In a continued effort to support women’s health and empower underserved communities, Rigel Foundation Odisharecently organized a special menstrual hygiene awareness drive in the slums of Vani Vihar, Bhubaneswar. The initiative focused on spreading awareness, breaking stigma, and ensuring that women and young girls have access to essential menstrual hygiene products.
During the event, the foundation distributed 200+ sanitary pads to women and adolescents who often lack proper resources and information regarding menstrual care. Volunteers engaged in interactive discussions to address common misconceptions, promote hygienic practices, and encourage open conversations about menstruation—a topic still considered taboo in many communities.
Speaking about the initiative, the Rigel Foundation team emphasized that menstrual hygiene is a fundamental aspect of women’s health and dignity. By reaching out to marginalized communities, the foundation aims to ensure that no woman is forced to compromise her wellbeing due to lack of access to basic menstrual products.
The distribution drive witnessed active participation from local residents, and the foundation expressed gratitude to the volunteers and supporters who helped make the program successful. Rigel Foundation Odisha plans to continue conducting similar outreach programs across different regions to promote health, awareness, and empowerment.
This initiative stands as a testament to the foundation’s commitment to creating positive social impact and fostering a healthier, more informed society.
