Rigel Foundation is a Section-8, Ministry of Corporate Affairs registered Non-Profit Organization under the Companies Act, 2013. Established on February 1, 2020, and officially incorporated by the Government of India on November 29, 2023, the Foundation began its journey with just five passionate founders.
What started as a small youth-led initiative has now grown into a dynamic community of 100+ active members across two states—Kolkata and Odisha—supported by dedicated volunteers and interns joining us every day.
Rigel Foundation is driven by a deep commitment to building an empowered and educated generation of youth. While education remains a core focus, our initiatives also extend to women’s sanitation & hygiene, food poverty alleviation, environmental and societal wellbeing, and healthcare.
Addressing such large-scale social challenges requires long-term dedication and collective effort. As we continue to grow, we remain guided by our belief:

A celebration of compassion where we distribute food and essentials to the homeless during Poila Baisakh and Diwali, spreading warmth and joy.
Providing free and quality education to underprivileged children—empowering dreams, one child at a time.
Hope Through Education – Project Umeed is our mission to provide free education to underprivileged children. We believe education is the foundation for empowerment, and through this initiative, we have successfully supported children with free learning resources for an entire year.
