CALL OF WOODS 2.0

PROJECT AIM:
The tree plantation drive aims to plant over 350 saplings of indigenous species to enhance environmental sustainability and community engagement.

PROJECT SUMMARY:
The tree plantation drive, held at the Bharat Scout and Guide Camp, marked a significant step toward fostering ecological balance and raising environmental awareness. The event, conducted from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, successfully planted 350 saplings in a designated area on the outskirts of the main city. Despite challenges such as limited cooperation and the remote location, the dedication and commitment of the participants ensured the drive’s success.

GOALS AND IMPACT:
The primary objective was to encourage community involvement in environmental initiatives, focusing on increasing green cover through tree planting. By targeting the local ecosystem, the drive aimed to contribute to a cleaner and healthier environment. The long-term success of this initiative will be measured by monitoring the growth and health of the saplings and evaluating the overall improvement in the area’s greenery.

TARGET BENEFICIARIES:
The plantation drive directly addressed the pressing need to enhance local environmental conditions by increasing the area’s green cover. Moreover, it served as an inspiration for individuals and other communities to participate in similar environmental protection activities.

PROMOTION AND PARTICIPATION:
The event was promoted through social media campaigns and word-of-mouth referrals within local networks, which played a crucial role in raising awareness and ensuring strong participation. This strategic outreach brought together a dedicated group of volunteers whose efforts contributed significantly to the event’s success.

CHALLENGES AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
Although the remote location and initial lack of cooperation posed challenges, the team’s resilience and commitment ensured the event’s successful execution. Originally, the goal was to plant 200 saplings; however, due to the overwhelming response from participants, the number was increased to 350.

The collaboration with Bharat Scouts & Guides added a new dimension to the event, further strengthening its impact. The project was conducted smoothly under the dynamic leadership of the President of the Kolkata Branch, making it a meaningful step toward environmental protection and awareness.
