EVENT ON RABINDRA JAYANTI

PROJECT AIM:
The event aimed to support and encourage the children of Dr. Mahanam Brata Culture Institute of Culture by providing nutritious food packets during their celebration of Rabindra Jayanti. The initiative recognized and appreciated the children’s cultural performances in honor of Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore’s birth anniversary.

PROJECT SUMMARY:
Held on May 9, 2022, at the Dr. Mahanam Brata Culture Institute of Culture in Sodepur, the event was an invitation-based cultural gathering. The children of the institute performed a variety of cultural activities that paid tribute to Rabindranath Tagore’s legacy. Although the team could not stay for the entire duration of the program, their presence during the early part of the event created a meaningful impact.

A total of 148 children—62 participants and 86 non-participants—received thoughtfully curated food packets as a gesture of appreciation. Each packet included 6 pieces of bread, 2 bananas, a boiled egg, cake, chips, and Maaza. The hospitality extended by the institute was warm and respectful, and the team was honored with a stole, badge, and book as a token of appreciation.

GOALS AND IMPACT:
The primary goal was to uplift and motivate young children engaged in cultural activities while promoting the significance of art and tradition among today’s youth. The initiative aimed to contribute to the holistic care and morale of the children by acknowledging their efforts with tangible support and encouragement.

TARGET BENEFICIARIES:
The direct beneficiaries were the children under the care of the institute—both those who performed and those who didn’t. The event also served as a broader encouragement for educational and cultural institutions to continue nurturing young talent and celebrating India’s rich cultural heritage.

PROMOTION AND PARTICIPATION:
Although the event wasn’t promoted on a wide scale, it was carried out as a respectful collaboration between the institute and the project team. The cultural exchange and mutual appreciation built during the event were central to its success.

CHALLENGES AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
The project operated within a budget of ₹20,000, with an additional ₹10,000 reserved if needed, but was fully funded by the club without any external donations.
Despite time limitations and the inability to stay for the full event, the team ensured all food packets were delivered on time and personally engaged with the children and organizers during their visit. The successful coordination and warm reception reaffirmed the value of cultural engagement and community support.

CONCLUSION:
This Rabindra Jayanti celebration was not just a tribute to a literary legend but also a heartfelt effort to promote cultural participation among children. The food packets symbolized appreciation, respect, and encouragement for the next generation of artists. The event highlighted the importance of integrating cultural awareness with community service.
