PROJECT AIM
RAHAAT was designed as a blanket donation drive focused on providing warmth and comfort to the homeless and underprivileged during the harsh winter months. The project embodies the spirit of community service, aiming to make a meaningful impact in urban areas through collective action and empathy.
PROJECT SUMMARY
The project revolved around empowering the underprivileged through the donation of high-quality blankets. The execution plan was built around community involvement, volunteer coordination, and strategic planning.

- Target Groups: Homeless individuals, security guards, elderly, and low-income groups.
- Donation Total: ₹71,408.00 collected through public donations.
- Procurement: All blankets were procured and quality-checked under the supervision of senior officials and interns.
- Distribution Count: Around 155 blankets were successfully distributed.
- Logistics: Transportation was arranged by an intern without hiring third-party logistics support.
⚙️ Team Coordination:
- Although the event was smoothly executed, both project heads were physically absent on the event day.
- Mr. Priyoum Dhar, a senior official and council member, acted as an on-ground leader to manage the event.
- Interns from St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata played a crucial role in planning and execution.
- However, the team was new to fieldwork, and briefing and training were not conducted thoroughly beforehand, leading to on-ground confusion.
📣 Promotional Strategy:
- Social Media: Used to spread awareness and drive donations.
- Word of Mouth: Helped in reaching local donors through personal referrals.
CONCLUSION
Despite multiple setbacks and last-minute hurdles, RAHAAT turned out to be a successful and impactful project. The interns, especially from St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata, did a commendable job under guidance, proving their capability to adapt and act on the ground.
The project achieved its goal — delivering comfort and care to those in need — reaffirming the Rigel Foundation’s commitment to social responsibility. Most importantly, the smiles and gratitude of the beneficiaries during the cold evening were a heartwarming reminder of why such initiatives matter.
