PROJECT AIM:
Rakhiva 3.0 was organized to honour and celebrate the selfless service and dedication of our frontline soldiers. By tying Rakhi to servicemen, we aimed to show gratitude, respect, and unity, and to strengthen the bond between the civilian community and the armed forces. The initiative is symbolic of solidarity and appreciation for those who safeguard our nation and communities.
PROJECT SUMMARY:
Now in its third successful edition, Rakhiva has become a prestigious annual event of Rigel Foundation, traditionally held under the President’s Fund and recognized as the President’s Project.
Key Highlights:
- Organized by: Mr. Suraj Kr. Midya (President) & Mr. Debajyoti Manna (Treasurer)
- Event Support:
- Rakhi materials were arranged by Mr. Midya
- Sweets for distribution were procured by Mr. Manna
- Aarti thalis were beautifully prepared by the Women Cell
- Male volunteers actively supported setup, coordination, and logistics
- The event was conducted at Dakhineshwar, and Rakhis were tied to our frontline soldiers in an emotionally moving and respectful ceremony
- The initiative was executed despite challenges in volunteer availability due to delayed planning
PROBLEMS & SOLUTIONS:
1. Delayed Planning:
- Problem: The event was planned on short notice, resulting in limited volunteer participation
- Solution: Future editions must be planned well in advance, with a structured timeline and clear volunteer allocation to ensure smooth execution.
2. Inadequate Social Media Outreach:
- Problem: The digital head did not prepare event highlights, posts, or reels for promotion. There was also a lack of follow-up from the then Director of Projects.
- Solution: Assign pre-event and post-event digital responsibilities to the Digital Head and ensure regular monitoring by project leadership for timely execution.
IMPACT:
- Strengthened the emotional and patriotic connection between civilians and uniformed personnel
- Encouraged active participation of female volunteers, boosting gender-inclusive representation
- Reinforced Rigel Foundation’s image as a community-centric and socially responsible organization
- Promoted the values of gratitude, unity, and national pride among youth and citizens
CONCLUSION:
Rakhiva 3.0 upheld the tradition of celebrating Raksha Bandhan with our protectors, acknowledging that brotherhood and protection go beyond familial ties. Despite facing planning-related challenges, the event was conducted with passion, discipline, and emotional resonance. The enthusiastic participation of female volunteers and collaborative efforts from the male team made the event a success story once again.
This initiative continues to be a matter of pride for Rigel Foundation and will remain a cornerstone project in the years to come, exemplifying the spirit of service, honour, and unity.
