📌 Aim of the Project:
Project SNEHO was initiated with the heartfelt goal of providing essential food supplies and basic amenities to the children of Sri Gauranga Gaudiya Mission Sevashram, an orphanage in Madhyamgram, Kolkata, which was facing severe resource scarcity during the COVID-19 pandemic. The project was born out of a call for help, with the orphanage left with only two weeks’ worth of ration.

✅ What We Achieved:

  • Rapid Response: Within 10 days of launching the campaign on June 2, 2021, the foundation received generous monetary and in-kind donations from community members.
  • Massive Contribution: We were able to collect and distribute:
    • 100 kg Puffed Rice
    • 75 kg Rice
    • 20 Large Packets of Instant Noodles
    • 15 Packets of Biscuits
    • 60 Toothbrushes and 60 Medium-Sized Toothpastes
    • 60 Soaps & Handwash Units
    • 150 Packets of Sanitary Napkins
    • 20 kg of Mixed Raw Staples

🤝 Outcome and Community Impact:

  • Immediate Relief: The donated supplies provided long-term sustenance for the orphanage, ensuring no child went hungry.
  • Extended Support: The foundation continued to support the orphanage occasionally based on further needs.
  • Educational Foresight: Discussions with the management highlighted the urgent need for educational support. Plans are now underway to address the educational gap through future projects.
  • Reputation Strengthening: This initiative showcased Rigel Foundation’s commitment to humanitarian work beyond its primary mission, building trust and a sense of unity in the community.

⚠️ Challenges Faced & Lessons Learned:

  • Logistical Delays: The start of the project was delayed due to logistical hiccups.
    Solution: More precise time management and early booking of logistics are now incorporated into planning for future projects.

🏁 Conclusion:
Project SNEHO was more than just a relief initiative; it was a testament to Rigel Foundation’s dedication to community service, empathy, and proactive action. It not only fulfilled an urgent need but also sowed the seeds for long-term educational support for the underprivileged. Through SNEHO, we reinforced our message—love, care, and brotherhood can create real change.
