About Suvaiyu

Born and brought up in North 24 Parganas, Kolkata, West Bengal, Suvaiyu Saha has been passionate about social change since childhood. Excelling in academics with over 90% in both secondary and senior secondary education, he was always inclined toward environmental and societal issues. At just 14 years old, he co-founded the Environment Care Unit (ECU) in school, a student-led initiative for tree plantation and environmental awareness. Though the club eventually dissolved due to resource constraints, Suvaiyu's unwavering commitment led to the formation of Rigel Foundation (formerly Empower India) at the age of 17. The inspiration came from a YouTube video he created on cigarette smoking awareness through his channel Educational Squad. His initial goal was to conduct quizzes and seminars on environmental and health awareness. Attempts to collaborate with the Rotaract Club of Barasat Central fueled his vision of turning the YouTube initiative into a full-fledged nonprofit organization.

Journey with Rigel Foundation

Suvaiyu’s leadership laid the foundation for Rigel’s success, with key contributions from Udayaditya Parbat, Shounok Guha, Shrikanta Sorcar, Sayantan Chakraborty, Debajyoti Manna, and many others. During his presidential tenure (2020-22), he spearheaded 50+ impactful events, despite limited resources. After passing the torch to new leadership, he continued guiding the organization by executing major projects and mentoring future leaders.

Professional Background & Achievements

Suvaiyu holds a degree in Microbiology from the University of Calcutta and has worked as an Event Head, Production Manager, and Consultant across multiple organizations. His impressive track record includes:

  • •Event Hosting & Anchoring, notably with Mr. Saahil Agarwal at THK Jain College's Fest, Ripples’23.
